During Recycling Week 14 – 20 October, we’re showcasing some of the great work being undertaken by EMERGE 3Rs. Collectively, we are EMERGE Recycling, FareShare Greater Manchester and Touch Wood. Today, it’s our turn to share something about the work we do with one of our clients, One + All. EMERGE Recycling is a local and ethical solution to your recyclable waste problems.

Supporting sustainability with One + All

At EMERGE Recycling, we’re proud to support One + All, a certified B Corporation committed to sustainability and environmental awareness. Since January 2020, we’ve partnered with them to provide ethical, cost-effective sustainable recycling services that align with their ethos of reducing their carbon footprint and creating positive social impact.

“Using EMERGE Recycling & Touch Wood has enabled us to reduce our carbon footprint even more, improving environmental awareness with our colleagues by committing to the source separating discipline. Their services are really cost-effective and efficient. The fact that EMERGE is a Bencom and socially responsible really chimes with our ethos and objectives too. As a supplier, they’re a great fit for us and we’re proud to work together” – Beth Moore, Sustainability Representative at One + All (A certified B Corporation)

We provide a comprehensive range of recycling services for One + All, ensuring that all waste streams are managed ethically and sustainably. Our sustainable recycling services include:

  • Baled cardboard collections: Efficiently collecting and baling cardboard for recycling.
  • Ad hoc food waste collections: On-demand solutions for food waste management.
  • Weekly office recycling collections: Covering internal office recycling, including cans, paper, cardboard and plastic bottles.
  • Confidential waste disposal: Securely managing sensitive documents to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • ICT secure disposal & WEEE recycling: Safely disposing of IT equipment and other electrical waste.

All collected materials are kept separate to avoid cross-contamination and maximise their recycling potential. Once processed at our New Smithfield Market depot, the segregated waste is baled and sent to local mills and reprocessors to be recycled into reusable products.

Impact reporting and local social value

To highlight the results of their recycling efforts, we provide One + All with a monthly certificate that details:

  • The amount of CO2 saved through sustainable practices.
  • The local social value created through real recycling efforts.

This transparent reporting reinforces their commitment to sustainability and helps engage their team in environmental initiatives.
