EMERGE Recycling is a social enterprise rooted in sustainable resource management, social value, and quality service. As a licensed waste carrier, we cater to diverse customer needs, including business waste, confidential shredding, food waste and waste electrical equipment. Our specialist treatment infrastructure allows us to manage waste efficiently, promoting the principles of the real 3Rs: Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.
Our story began in 1996 when we launched as a community business in East Manchester. Over the years, we have expanded into the EMERGE Family, which includes two entities: EMERGE Recycling and EMERGE 3Rs. Operating from our site on New Smithfield Market, EMERGE 3Rs serves as an environmental charity promoting resource conservation. It also runs FareShare Greater Manchester, helping to alleviate food waste and fight food poverty. It also runs the Give & Gain Volunteering and Employability Programme. The two entities work collaboratively, with EMERGE Recycling utilising some its profits to achieve their shared vision. As such, in becoming our customer, you will also be helping people in need, as well as tackling climate change!
Over the past 24 years we have supplied waste management services to a wide variety of customers, including businesses, schools and universities, charities and social enterprises, the NHS and local government. his includes services tailored for business waste recycling in Liverpool and beyond. We are fully accredited with ISO 9001: 2015, BS EN 15713 (covering paper documents as well as IT equipment), SafeContractor, OTC operator licence and we hold a T11 Exemption. In addition to our general recycling services, we also operate reclaimed timber collections and a wood upcycling initiative, Touch Wood; in our shop we upcycle waste wood for sale to the public and train volunteers and work placements to create bespoke products. If you’re interested, you can also volunteer with Touch Wood and join our mission to upcycle and create.

Wood Collection
Do you need to get rid of waste wood? We offer a competitively-priced collection service and process reclaimed timber for resale to the public. We also practice upcycling; creating expertly-crafted items from reclaimed wood in our specialist workshop, including bespoke pieces of furniture.
External Waste Collection
For external collections of bagged, segregated materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, cans, glass, food and residual waste, we offer a bin service collected at your convenience, on a regular schedule.
